Boone, chief of conssta&ction of the proposed and nanch talked of Black Diamond jcaiiroad, that the survey of the extension from Greenfield via Crown JBoint and Hammond to Chicago wifi Be commenced in Lake county ns isoon as the Kankakee marsh fenezes over to make it passable Car the surveying corps. If, as 'jfauts been stated this route is surveyed on an air line it will pass /through Jasper county in a due northwest and southeast direction. It <svill enter the east side of the ootunty about where the line be’fareen Gillam and Hanging Grove Tpe. -strikes Pulaski county: and will leave the county on the KanJfcaSkee river, about 6 miles north of OeMoite. Much of the distance ifasrough the county would be very -c&ose to the line of Gifford’s tsailroad, and where’it would cross tfie-Coal road would be not more quarter of a mile from Oiftord’s line.
