Another Department Store Coming.

The prospects are now very strong that the near future will see another large department store established in Rensselaer. Laßue Brothers, already well known in the general grocery and furniture trades, are negotiating for the three large adjoining store rooms in the Nowels block. If they can obtain them, the rooms -will be thrown together and the Laßues will move both their grocery and furniture stocks into them, and add all other lines usually kept in department stores. The enterprise is a sure thing if the three rooms can be secured. One of the three is vacant and the other occupied by Mr. Nowels, proprietor of the block. These two can be had, but the third is occupied by Wildberg & Tuteur’s clothing store, and their lease has over a year to run; and the fate of the enterprise hinges on the willingness of this firm to surrender their lease. This, however, they are willing to do provided they can find another as satisfactory room.
