Obituary.
Peter Rhoads was born in Somerset Co., Penn., Oct. 27, 1828, died in Rensselaer, Ind., Nov. Ist, 1898, aged 70 years and 5 days. He removed to Ohio when quite young and thence to Indiana about 45 years ago. He was married to Caroline Sayler, who survives him, Aug. 4, 1856. To them were born six children, all of whom survive him, Mrs. C. C. Starr, Alice, Edward S„ Oliver and Charles Rhoads, of Rensselaer, and Mrs. Ella Reubelt, of Dana, Ind. He united with the M. E. church soon after his marriage, and remained a consistent Christian until his death. He was a tinner by trade, but for a time managed a hardware store in Rensselaer. The funeral was held Friday afternoon, at the residence, by Rev. H. M. Middleten, and was very largely attended. At the cemetery the burial services were conducted by Prairie Lodge, F. & A. M., of which the deceased was a member.
