Editor Stoll, of the South Bend Times, regards this year’scampnign as the most rational that Indiana has had for more than fifty years, . He says people wont about their busiuess; there was no exoitement, no acrimony, no cutting and slushing; everything was orderly and decent, as beeame a people who are capable of thinking and ecting for themselves. He says candidates have saved a great deal of money that, under other circumstances, would have been dumped into rat-holes. It pays to bo decent in politicsas well as in private life. The Republican has pursued this policy in the past and will not depart from it now. And in passing, we might add, that these remarks of Editor Stoll, who is one ot the foremost democratic editor-
in the state, would be good for the editors of the Rensselaer Democrat to take to heart.
