The Stationery Contract.

In these last few issues we are making a sort of a round up of the Democrat's campaign slanders and fakes, nnd cannot do a complete job without some reference to the county stationery contract. A yearly contract was made with Wilson, Humphreys' & Co., of Logansport, in Sept. 1897, for $1460 for a year’s supplies. Since then, nothing has been paid to any other firm for supplies delivered during the period covered, except for a set of tax duplicates, whioh were ordered before the contract but not delivered until after it was made. And for * this set of duplicates,. Wilson & Humphrey’s have furnished a similar set for next year without extra charge. The contract with them also included, at the price mentioned, a set of tally sheets and other election supplies, for the coming election, and these have been faithfully furnished, without extra cost, although the contract expired two mouths ago. The county has saved large money from its contract with the Logansport firm.
