High School Wins.

The High School played their first scheduled game of the season at Goodland last Saturday, against a team which was supposed to represent the Goodland High Sohool. But very few High School players were on the team, and the vacant places were filled by older and heavier men of the town. The Rensselaer boys however under the direction of Prof. Osborn have been working hard, and they had no trouble whatever in running through and around their beefy opponents. All of our boys played well, and they deserve great credit for defeating a team so much heavier than they were. Quarter-back Grant handled the team like a veteran, and filled the captains position very well, in the absence of Saylor, the regular captain. The Goodland management is feeling pretty “cheap” after agreeing to play only High School inen, then going back on their word and putting in all the best men of the town, to be shut out by a team weighing 15 lbs. less to the man. The final score was 22 to 0. In two respects the game was a good one, that is, no one was hurt and but little quarreling about the decisions of the referree.
