Mulberry An Easy Victim. Smarting from her defeat of last Saturday, the doughty sons of Rensselaer went into the game with Mulberry Thursday with a grim determination to win, and win they did. The day was an ideal day for football, though the wind rendered goal kicking somewhat doubtful. Mulberry won the toes, taking the easterly goal and we the ball. Brinley kicked to Muse who advanced the ball 10 yds; then around the end for 5 yds; then they tried a line back through tackle but made no headway. Then they tried another end play but Rhoadss was there in time to stop it ere much gain was made. A second similar play met like result. Rhoades dropped his man slick and clean. The next down they tried Woodworth’s end but True picked the runner up and carried him back 5 yds. Then Mulberry kicked to Brinley who oarried the ball some 5 yds. ere he went down. Rensselaer took the ball, and with steady line bucks by Marshall for 3 yds, Brinley for 4, Marshall for 5, Wood for Brinley for 2. Marshall for 4, Yeoman for 4, rapidly carried the ball down the field. Then Brinley ran for 20 around tackle and Wright carried it for 4 more. Then Rensselaer nearly lost the ball, for Rhoades nearly fumbled but “Papa” caught it on the fly and made a nice little gain. Brinley again made his gain pf 5, and Marshall went through like a shot for a touchdown. Brinley failed goal. Score sto 0* Mulberry kicked off to Wright who advanced 10, then Brinley 4, Marshall 3, Brinley 5, Marshall 8, Yeoman for 5 and then Marshall went around the left end for thirty five and then sent Yeoman over for a touchdown. 1 Brinley failed geal. The second half was a repetition of the first in that line bucks made the most ground. Mulberry played a good game but was no match for Rensselaer. The home boys simply out played the visitors and at no time was our goal in danger, and our boys made their gains whenever they wished, and in the second half we scored two touchdowns and two goals. One of which Marshall kicked and Brinley the other. Score 27 to 0. line up. RENSSELAER. POSITION. MULBERRY. Wright left end Peele 1rwin...... left tackle....
