The City Council.

The City Council did but little business Monday night. Claims to the amount of $161.13 were allowed. “*’■ A sewer was ordered constructed, beginning at the se corner of block 39, on Plum street, in Westons’ addition, thence west and north, by tnrns, about 5 blocks, emptying into Makemself, on Main street, near Nelse Randle’s place. The special police ordinance was passed to third reading and adopted. A special ordinance was introduced and read the first time. It required persons who keep monkeys to take out a license of 810 per year, and is made specially applicable to members of the council. No monkey to be allowed on the street except when accompanied bj’ parent or guardian. All of which was a little joke on Councilman John Eger, who lately got a corner on the monkey market in the Madison street bird and monkey store in Chicago, and bought out the monkey stock at his own price
