An Andersonville Prisoner To Lecture.
Ralph O. Bates, a man of a most remarkable experience as a prisoner of war during the great war, will lecture Thursday. evening at the M. E. church, on the subject “From Andersonville Prison to the White House.” He originated one of the most noted tunnel schemes at Andersonville and is one of the very few men who made successful escapes from that place of accursed memory. Mr. Bates comes with a most remarkable list of high recommendations, such as it would not be possible to have obtained, were not his lecture one ot the, highest merit. He comes under the auspices of the public schools, and one half of the proceeds of his lecture go to the public school library fund.
