Lots of Oil Leases.

The oil excitement seems to be prevailing somewhat extensively in the northeast part of the county, just now. Recorder Porter has just received for record, from South Bend a dozen oil and gas leases in a bunch. They are for lands in Gillam, Wheatfield, Walker and Kankakee townships. They agree to give the customary one eighth of the oil product and SIOO per year for each gas well .utilszed. The leases are made to Ihe Interstate Petroleum. Oil and Gas Company. Parties giving the leases are George and Charles Bnchan, Horace Marble, George Nichols, George Hoehn, two, Jonathan Lewis, Heniy C. Wagner. F. W. Austin, Melchior Mueller, Geo. C. Dunn, Abraham Miller and Jennie Dunn. The leases are for five years and each requires $1 in revenue stamps-
