W. W. Reynolds and family of Brookston, are now staying at the home of Mrs. Reynolds’ mother, awaiting the completion of a new house in Austin & Paxton's addition in Rensselaer, where they will reside. Clinton Thornton and Mr. Sheffer started to the yearly meeting of the F. W. Baptist church at Wolf Lake about a week ago and as far as Hanna, Porter Co., when it began raining and, their conveyances being wheels, had to return. Mason Kenton and wife have gone to Delphi to visit his sister there for a few days. School commences at this place next Monday morning, Robert Hopkins, teacher. Steve Williams's wife is seriously sick. Dr. Johnson is waiting on her. A Rensselaer Photographer came up here the other dav and took several pictures of the scales here for the Surrey Artist who will make drawings of it with a view of getting a patent on them. They are reversible and are arranged on rollers so that they are very handy. Mrs. I .oughridge and her brother, Trevor, spent Sunday in Chicago.
