Bold Bank Robbery.
At Flora, Carroll county, early Tuesday morning, burglars blew up the safe in the Farmers’ bank, owned by W. H. Lenon. He lives near and heard the explosion and went out and began firing with a revolver. One of the burglars then shot Lenon in the face with a shot gun, destroying one eye, and injuring him very dangerously. After a second charge of dynamite the safe was wrecked and the burglars escaped taking about $12,000 with them. There were four or five in the gang. They left on a railroad hand car, but some miles away, took horses which they had previously left there. A searching party was organized and one man was captured who was thought to be one of the robbers.
