W. L. Ross, of Streator, 111., general agent of the Indiana, 111. and lowa Railroad, was in town Friday, and filed for record in the Recorder’s office here, a copy of the mortgage just issued by the company to the Continential Trust Company of New York. It is for $3,000,000 and 50 years to run. it will cover 40 or 50 pages of record. The fee for recording in this county was sl3. Mr. Ross brought along the original to be marked for filing and to show that the proper government revenue stamps had been affixed. These stamps amounted to $1,499.50.
