Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 20, Number 6, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 23 September 1898 — Tax Leyies for 1898. [ARTICLE]
Tax Leyies for 1898.
The county commissioners have fixed the county tax levies for 1898, and ordered placed on the duplicates the township levies made by the trustees. The state tax levy of course remains the same 29| cents on the SIOO, for all purposes. The tax for county purposes has been reduced from 50| cents last year to cents this year. The cent is retained for convenience in computation, as it makes an even cent when added to the ยง in the state levy. The court house bond tax remains at 10 cents and the gravel road repair fund at 5 cents. There is not a town or township in the county in which the total tax levy is not less this year than last. The follcfwing table gives the total tax levy of last year and this with the various net reductions.
