One Jasper County Soldier Dies.

.Insper county has lost at least one promising young mnn as a result of the Spanish war. It is Elwood Spriggs, son of Squire Joel F. Spriggs, the well known justice of Walker Tp. The particulars have not been received very fully, but it is known that the young mnn loft home some time last year, owing to domestic infelicity, and that his whereabouts appear to have been unknown. He went to Missouri, however, and joined a regiment from that state. Late last week his father received a telegram stating that the young man had died at Kalians City, of typhoid fever. The father started from Medaryville last Saturday to bring the body home for burial, and the funeral was held Wednesday, at Kniman. The young man leaves widow, who is a (laughter of FrWl Schwanke, extrustee of Keener Tp., and an infant child. He was always known ns a very estimable young man, nnd had quite a wide acquaintance in the county, ns a teacher of quite a number of years experience. .
