A Special Session.
The city council heid a special meeting Wednesday evening The matter of the school and town tax levies for the next year were discussed but not finally acted upon, as only one member of the school board was present. Another meeting for the tax levies will be held Monday night. The electric light committee was authorized jto insure the boilers of the light plant, with the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection Co., for $12,000, at $l2O premium for three years. The insurance provides against loss by explosions, including indemnity against loss for personal damages in case of injuries to persous. About a mile of side walk, more or less, was condemned, in various parts of town. The property owners nffected are J. W. Horton, M. F. Chilcote, W. W. Hartsell, Henry Harris, Mrs. Agues Kelley, Isaac Hemphill, Nathan Fendig, John Jones. Mrs. Hoover, Nancy Towers, Laßlue Bros., W. R. Nowels, M. Chipman, Mrs. Cripps, Mrs. Thornton, Lyman Zea, Mrs. Margaret Day, Martin McNett, D. B. Nowels, Thomas Lamsor., W. S. Parks, Lewis Sayler. About half of the parties named will have to build cement walks, as they live within the original plat of the town.
