Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 20, Number 3, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 13 September 1898 — Street Fairs are Poor Investments. [ARTICLE]
Street Fairs are Poor Investments.
Chalmers Ledger. Wolcott inaugurated the street fair business in this part of Indiana, but after holding two fairs, decided that they didn’t pay, and gave it up. Francesville, Delphi, Moron and several other towns have taken up the plan, and will give fairs this fall. While the Wolcott street fair was a huge success, so far as gathering a crowd was concerned, it was a failure in most other respects, and the citizens decided to let other towns do the street fair business.
