The Leadlug Silver Magazine Dies a Natural Death For Want of Support. The Arena magazine of which Dr. Ridpath formerly of Greencastle, and the great thrower together of unreliable history, illustrated by Police Gazette wood cuts, was editor, has suspended publication. The Arena has been the official magazine of the free silver party since 'Dr. Ridpath has held the position of editor. The financial condition of the paper was very strained at the time of the selection of Dr. Ridpath but it was thought he would be able to pull it through. The suspension of the Arena will be a sad blow to the free silverites whose ranks have been thinned to such a degree that they could not support such a magazine and its failure protends but one thing—the early death of the free silver craze. The country papers which were started last campaign to boom the cause have passed away long ago, sheriff greatly assisting in closing most of them up.
