A Noted Lecturer Coming Dr. H. J. Becker, of Dayton, Ohio, a man whose reputation for •eloquence and interest as a public lecturer is right along with such men as Dr. Willets, and who is scarcely less noted as a traveler, will deliver two lectures in Rensselaer next week. He comes under the joint auspices of the Chris- • tain Endeavor societies of Presbyterian and Christian churches, respectively, and his lectures will be given at the Presbyterian •church. The dates of the lectures are Friday and Saturday nights, Sept. l>th and 10th. The subject of his first lecture will be “Liberty of Cuba.” His second lecture, the subject of which is not yet announced, but it will be connected with the doctor's extensive travels in the Holy Land. Dr. Becker had an engagement for one lecture at the recent Fountain Park Assembly, but so groat was the pleasure of his audience, that a second was insisted upon. Those of our citizens who heard him at Fountain Park are xuost eager to hear him again, at Rensselaer. Prices of the lectures have been placed at a very low price of 25 ■oeats, which is only half the ■regular admission to Dr. Becker's lectures. -e ■ ■ Opening at Ellis’ Opera House.
