Big Day for the Methodists.
Last Sunday was a great day at the Trinity Methodist Episcopal church. The morning service was devoted to the Baptism and Receptibn of members, the fruits of the Evangelist Reed revival a few months since. The pastor read the General Rules then baptized two young men who were not baptized at service held immediately after the revival. He then called the roll of probationers and 46 persons responded filling the space in front of the cbapcel with two rows clear across the church. After the usual form of reception, Dr. H. A. Gobin of De Rauw University, delivered a short congratulatory address to them. The service was very impressive and inspiring. Last night the church was crowded and Dr. Gobin delivered a masterly address on Education. It would be useless to attempt a synopsis of it in the space available. The Doctor was in a very happy mood, and his strong arguments for higher education and appeals to the young people to secure it will not be lost.
