A New County History.

C- W. Demtnon, of Chicago is in town now working up material for a new history of Jasper county. He has had much experience in that line, and he represents the Lewis Publishing Company of Chicago, which lias made maps of that character specialty for 20 years. The prospectus of the proposed work, which is a biographical history, states that the work will include the counties of Tippicanoe White, Jasper. Newton, Benton and Warren. The work in Tippecanoe county has been, in progress for two months, and in Benton, county it has made good progress. The work will be strictly biographical in character, as, according to the prospectus, “the history of a county is best told in the lives of its people.” The work will be issued in two' large, handsomely bound volumes, and the edition limited to the number of copies ordered in advance.
