Another New Divorce Case.
Remington came forward with another divorce case Monday. This one is closely connected with the two celebrated Meyer cases, tried at the June term. The plaintiff is Paul F. A. Meyer, and the defendant is Augusta C. Meyer. He is an uncle of the two Meyer brothers, whom their wives, who were sisters, sued for divorces at the last term, and she was an important witness in those cases. This couple were married 30 years ago, in Germany. Their three children are all grown up, and two of them married. The plaintiff is a retired farmer, living in Remington. He charges his wife with cruel and inhuman treatment namely, that she accuses him with unchaste conduct and circulates unsavor}’ reports about him among the neighbors. She also, he says, fails to manifest any affection for him, and refuses to fulfil the “sacred duties of matri, mony.”
