More About Gifford’s Railroad.

From our townsman, S. G, Henderson, who was in town Thursday afternoon, and then preparing to begin grading work on B. J. Gifford’s new railroad, we learned some further particulars about that enterprise. Instead of extending only about 7 miles southeast from the starting point on the Coal Road, it is said that it will reach about 12 miles. Or about to the south line of Barkley Tp. Mr. Gifford* believes he can have the road completed and in operation within 90 days. It does not follow on the immediate ' bank of the dredge ditch, but very close to it. Mr. Gifford does not state whether he will own the rolling stock and operate the road himself, or have it operated by the line he connects with. There are some reports that it is to be an electric road, but nothing is known on that point directly from Mr. Gifford. Mr. Henderson has a contract for making 600 feet of the grade, the second station from the starting point. It is expected that grading will be under full headway before the end of the present week.
