Railroad Assessments.

The state board of tax commissioners have finished the assessments of railroad property and have an increase of $79,600 over last year. Most of the roads are about the same and the increase comes from a few roads near Chicago. The Monon will pay $16,600 on its main line and $3,500 on its side tracks. The Western Union Telegraph Co., was assessed $325 per mile and the Central Union Telephone Co., $250 per mile.
