Took Away His Prisoner.

Bartow, Fla., Aug. 11. —Sheriff Tillis went to Lakeland Monday for a negro charged with selling liquor. He arrested his man, handcuffed him and had him on the car. While waiting for the train to pull out 25 or 30 of the Tenth cavalry (a negro regiment) walked into the car and demanded that the sheriff release his prisoner. This Sheriff Tillis refused to do, and in a moment he was looking down 25 or 30 revolver barrels. The soldier* then took the prisoner from the sheriff and walked off with him.
