Hay making and the farmers are busy plowing for wheat. Mel Garriot has been quite sick but is improving. Mrs. Henry Steele is very sick with typhoid fever. Miss Nora Myers was called to her home near DeMotte the latter prrt of last week on account of her mother’s sickness. S. B. Jenkins and family of Chicago Heights are back visiting friends and relatives near Blackford. Mr. and Mrs. Shields returned to their home in Chicago last week after visiting the latter’s Mr. and Mrs. William Hurley and other relatives near Blackford a few weeks. Ester McClarv has returned the west. Mr. and Mrs. Elias Arnold visited the family of Winfred Pence near DeMotte the latter part of last week.
