Funeral of Mrs. Aaron Putman.

The funeral of Mrs. Catherine Putman, wife of Rev. Aaron Putman, was held at the Mt. Ayr Baptist church, Wednesday, by Rev. V. O. Fritts, of Rensselaer; and was very largely attended. She was born in Glentown, N. Y., Lived in Ohio from 1838 to 1861; and in Newten Co.. Ind., from that time until her death. Her husband survives her at the age of 85 years. She lived with him several mouths over fifty years. They had no children of their own, but adopted two orphan children, one of whom, Edward Putman, lives in this county, some miles northwest of Rensselaer. The other, Mrs. Melissa Smith, lives in Newton county. Mrs. Putman’s age was 79 years, 7 months, 4 days. • I <
