A Cherry Beverage.
A delightful drink, the receipt for which may be filed away for the now not distant cherry time,,is culledcherry mabel. Stone the cherries and put them in a jar which rests in a pot of boiling water. The water boils around the cherries un.til the juiceisextracted; strain the juice and to one-half gallon add two pounds of sugar; boil this until ull the scum is taken off. throwing ir. a few whole spices.' A taGlespoonful of this with a spoonful of raw cream put into a tumbler, which is then filled from a siphon of vichy or soda water, is a refreshing summer drink. St. Louis Republic.
