That New Electric Road.

Company Will Be Organized Next Friday. Winamac Democrat. The R. W. & R. (Rochester, Winamac and Rensselaer) railroad company will be organized next Friday, July 29, at a meeting to be held in this city for that purpose. That was the decision reached at an enthusiastic meeting held here Tuesday afternoon. In the absence of Judge Burson, chairman of the adjourned meeting, J. R. Dukes was selected to fill that position, with the Republican and Democrat men as secretaries. Replies received to the correspondence by the committee elicited a lively interest in the building of an electric line from Rochester through Kewanna, Winamac. Pulaski and Francesville to Rensselaer, and the unanimous vote of the meeting was for organization next Friday as stated, so as to get the work going with a hum. At that meeting of the 29th it is hoped to have a good attendance from all points named above and from elsewhere along the line as well. It wants to be understood that this is not to he a “Winamac” company but an “all-along-the-line” company — a company that will combine and unite the interests of every foot of the fifty-five miles or thereabouts of road to be. built, and work for the good of all concerned. Winamac is not selfish in the matter; she simply wants to see the road built, and is willing to do her full share toward securing it.
