Heat Scorches Kansas Corn.

Topeka, Kan., July 25. —The terrific heat throughout Kansas is disastrous - to the growing corn. The earth is drj . and in thousands of fields the blades of the corn rolled up under the scorching sun. The Kansas corn crop is just now in the critical stage, and unless rain comes and breaks the heated spell the ears will be shriveled up into nubbins. Elevator men say a few days more of this weather will cut the crop 100,000,000 bushels.
