Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 19, Number 89, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 15 July 1898 — Hull is in Our Jail. [ARTICLE]
Hull is in Our Jail.
Sheriff Reed arrived from Mar--1 lette.Mich., on the 10:55 a. m., train Thursday, with Perry H. flull, who [stole James McDonald’s horses. It seems that Hull did not take ■ the horses to Michigan, but according to his story, left them with some relatives near Peru, this state. Mr. McDonald has gone to try to locate and recover the team and buggy. Hull claims that lie got only SIS for the outfit. Hull was at his wife’s folks when captured. Instead of being very wealthy they are decidedly poor. His wife is left at Marlette. Hull made no great objection to corning back without a requisition. In intellectual appearance Hull is in the same class with our esteemed townsman, Jerry Kursner. As a picturesque and resourceful liar, however, he is in a class by himself.
