THE WAR LOAN.

Subscription* Will Close at Three P. M. Thur»<lay—The Aggregate May Reach * 1,280,000,000* Washington, July 13.—The subscriptions to the new war loan will close at three o’clock uext Thursday afternoon. Up to this time both the number of subscriptions received and the aggregate amount subscribed for far exceed all estimates. Monday the number of subscriptions was about 21,000 for the day, and the total reached the surprising aggregate of 220,000. Those for SSOO and under to date are for about $65,600,000, and it is expected that it will approximate $75,000,000 by three o’clock on the 14th inst. The subscriptions for sums exceeding SSOO already aggregate $391.000,00C, and It is expected that at the time of closing they will have reached $445,000,000, making the grand total, including the large blanket blds, over $1,250,000,000.
