May Prove to be a Fraud.
Two very smooth talking women put in most of last week here selling an alleged hair restorative, which was claimed to do wonderful things. They would sell for most any old price, and they disposed of great quantities, dealing exclusively with the women. They claimed that they intended to locate here permanently, opening hairdressing parlors, and a free hair dressing was to be given later to each buyer of the hair medicine. Late Saturday afternoon one woman, who had bought a 50 cent bottle and tried cleaning her baby's scalp without effect, was looking for the hair medicine women. She claimed to have learned that the medicine was made out of water, a little salt and some aniline coloring matter. The women left rather suddenly Saturday evening. To one woman, at whose house they
had engaged rooms, the head one wrote back that her hair dresser was sick* but she would hire another £nd be back Wednesday, to another she wrote that she would be back soon, but didn’t say when.
