The Old Settlers’ Meeting.

The directors of the Jasper County Old Settler’s Association, met Friday afternoon, at the court house, to take further action regarding the coming annual meeting. Directors present were, David Culp, Augustus Stimson, L. S. Alter, Peter Foulks, Newman Snow, W. R. Nowels, S. P. Thompson, Jared Benjamin, W. W. Wishard, Simon Phillips. The most important action taken was to order the secretary to notify each township chairman to prepare a list and history of the ten earliest settlers in his township. The programs were adopted and ordered published. The next meeting of the directors will be held the Ist Saturday in August. At this meeting all committees are ordered to report. The annual public meeting will be held the second Saturday in September, in S. Phillips’ grove, at Rensselaer. ■— ———
