The Keener Gravel Road.

Contractor McGinniss, of DeMotte, is now placing the gravel on the 12 miles of gravel roads in Keener township, most of the grading for which was done last fall. The gravel is brought from up near South Bend, and delivered at Y'irgie, on the Coal Road. From YTirgie a temporary railroad has been laid until it strikes the line of the east and west gravel road. At present the temporary railroad is operated by horses, and a team can haul sor fi tons at a load. A traction engine is being fitted up for a locomotive to run over this temporary railroad by which it is thought much more can be hauled than by teams. It is expected to extend this temporary railroad along the line of the gravel roads as fast as they are graveled. Bring your buggy, wagon and harness wants to Judy and The Leif Buggy Company and they will supply you. They have the material and ability to do it. New three room house to rent. Four dollars per month. \V. B. Austin.
