The Odd Fellows’ Building.

The Odd Fellows’ building has just been connected with the city waterworks. A conveniently located room on the second floor has been appropriated for the purpose, and all the necessary and modern conveniences installed therein. This building has been about the most popular tenant building in town ever since its erection, and it is the intention of the trustees to keep up its good reputation in this regard. In speaking of this building it will not be out of place to say here that its erection, which some of the good brethren feared was a risky experiment, has been, a marked success from the first. All its rooms have been occupied by most desirable tenants, and thus as a financial measure, its success has far exceeded the anticipations of its most sanguine advocates. In a less direct but not less positive way, the erection of the building lias also been a grand thing for the Odd FelloVrs. It has given the order such a prominence and standing as to result in greatly accelerating its growth, and also of the cognate branch the Daughters of Rebekah. A further good result which is to be looked for in the future, is the probable encouragement of of other lodges to erect buildings in our town.
