The Lightning Jumped On The Telephones.
The heavy thunder storm of late Tuesday afternoon got in its work on the telephone system here, very effectively. And not only here but over all their connecting lines. Right here in town the lightning got on to the wires several times. At the central office about 225 fuses were burned out, and some 15 switch board ringers. Two house telephones also had their ringers burned off, namely at J. W. Paxton’s and W. H. Beams. The money damage will be SSO to $75, it is thought.
