Assessment Largely Increased.
Township Assessors John T. Sayler and his Rensselaer deputy, James W. Cowden, have finished assessing Rensselaer and Marion township. In Rensselaer the assessment of personal property is increased over last year by the amount of $100,713, In Marion township the gain over last year is $30,220. In Rensselaer the number of polls assessed is 415, a gain of seven over last year. In Marion township the number is 208, which is a loss of 34. The city has taxed 63 dogs this year, last year only 53. In the township there are 86 dogs, last year 83.
