New Enlistment Method.
Department Commander Dodge of the G. A. R. will issue a circular to posts in Indiana asking each veteran to select several young men of his acquaintance for enlistment in cuso troops are called for by the president. The plan is for eaoh veteran to carefully pick several men who have the making of good soldiers and prepare them for enlistment by drill and instruction. By this means it is expected thut sevoral thousand picked men between 19 and 45 years old can be secured. No veterans of the rebellion are to enlist, but each veteran is to bo sponsor for tho character and physical qualities of tho men he offors. Dr. I. B. Washburn expects to spend the next five or six weeks in Chicago taking a special course of instruction in the use of the microscope and attending eye, ear, nose, throat and surgical clinics. He will bo at home each Saturday and Sunday to treat chronic cases.
