WIND BRINGS DEATH.
Cyclone Which Swept Over lowa anil Other State* Caused Lo** of Life and Property. Sioux City, la., May 2—A tornado Saturday night which originated in the northeastern part of Nebraska passed in a northeasterly direction across the southeastern corner of South Dakota, doing considerable damage in the vicinity of Elk Point. One man, John P. Johnson, was killed. The storm passed Into northwestern XowS, destroying a score or more of houses in the towns of Maurice, Sheldon, Akron and Ashton. ’Two children named Lemkahl were killed near Sheldon.
