FIENDISH WORK.
An Agrd Couple Sluln In a Wisconsin Village by Rubbers and Their Home Burned. Madison, Wls., April 20. —Black Earth, 23 miles from this city, on the Bt. Paul road, was the scene of a probable double murder Wednesday night, the victims being Mr. and Mrs. AndrewNel>on, the husband 71 and the wifes6years old, iiviug near the edge of the village. Between nine and ten o’clock two men came to their home, and after securing admission immediately began their murderous work. The old man’s head was crushed in with a club and the wife quickly pounded in to insensibility. The fiends then set fire to the house, both bodies being almost totally destroyed by the Homes. Robbery was the object of the terrible deed. A few days ago Nelson sold his house and lot in iioscobel for S4OO. The murderers supposed he had the money in the house. Whether they succeeded in finding it is not now known.
