J. Frank Hanly Will Raise a Regiment.
Hon. J. Frank Hanly, of Lafayette, and his law partners, are starting in to organize a regiment from the Ninth and Tenth congressional districts, to be in readiness to answer to next call at the word go. Possibly the Rensselaer company will find here a more coiigeniah opening than in Charley Griffin’s regiment. Mr. Hanly and his partners send out the following card: Fellow Citizens—lt is quite probable that the President of the United States will call for additional volunteers in the near future. Realizing this we have tendered our services to the governor of Indiana. It is our intention to recruit and organize a regiment of twelve companies, to be taken from the Ninth and Tenth Congressional districts, two of which shall be taken from Tippecanoe county. The work of enrollment should begin at once in oroer that we may take advantage of the next call. We therefore solicit such of our fellow citizens as are desirous of enlisting, to signify their intention by reporting at our office in the Wallace block, in the city of Lafayette, without delay and sign the roll of enlistment. Each volunteer must be able bodied and between the ages of 18 and 45 years. Rospectfuliy submitted. J. Frank Hanly, William R. Wood. Daniel E Storms.
