Governors Notified of Number of Men They Must Furnish. m INFANTRY, CAVALRY AND ARTILLERY. Quick Responses to the Call Are Made, and Mobilisation Is Begon —President Won’t Call for Additional Volunteers. Washington, April 26. —The war department has issued a call on the states for their quotas of troops under the call for 125,000 men. The following are the quotas: Alabama—Two regiments of Infantry and one battalion. Arkansas —Two regiments of Infantry. California—Two regiments' of Infantry, two battalions and four heavy batteries. Colorado—One regiment of Infantry and one light battery. Connecticut—One regiment of Infantry, one light battery and two heavy batteries. Delaware—One regiment of Infantry. Florida—One regiment of Infantry. Georgia—Two regiments of Infantry and two light batteries. Illinois —Seven regiments of Infantry and one regiment of cavalry. Indiana—Four regiments of Infantry and two light batteries. lowa—Four regiments of infantry and two light batteries. Kansas—Three regiments of infantry. Kentucky—Three regiments of Infantry and two troops of cavalry. Louisiana—Two regiments of Infantry. Maine —One regiment Infantry and one heavy battery. Oklahoma—One troop cavalry. No Additional Call. Washington, April 26. —It is positively stated that the president does no<t contemplate a call for additional volunteers for the present. To Mobilise In Springfield. Springfield, 111., April 26. —Gov. Tanner and Adjt. Gen. Reece have issued orders calling on state troops to mobilize at Springfield immediately, all to be here by Wednesday. The call from Washington is aa follows: The Call. "The number of troops from your state under the call of the president, dated April 24. 1898, will be seven regiments Infantry Lnd one regiment cavalry. It Is the wish of the president that the regiments of the national guard or state militia shall be used as far as their number will permit, for the reason that they are armed, equipped and drilled. Please wire as early aa possible what equipment, ammunition, arms, blankets, etc., you have and what additional you will require. The governor’s call says that tho First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh regiments of infantry, and the troops of cavalry commanded by MnJ. Kdwnrd C. Young will at once mobilize at the state fair grounds, Springfield, for war serriee. Commanding officers will assemble their respective commands and take train so ns to arrive at Springfield not later than 12 o’clock noon, Wednesday, April 27. States Respond Quickly. Madison, Wls„ April 26. —Gov. Scofield has notified the war department that Wisconsin can mobilize 2,500 equipped militia of the national guard

In from eight to sixteen hoars. The quota is three regiments, so all will go as all have volunteered. Gov. Scofield has Issued a patriotic proclamation to the people. Dee Moines, la., April 26.—The adjutant general of lowa has issued a call for mobilization of the national guard at Des Moines. Indianapolis, Ind., April 26. —Gov. Mount has issued his proclamation calling upon the Indiana guard to assemble in this city to-day. 1 ' f '■ a- Among other states which have responded promptly td the call for troops are the following: Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Massachusetts, Missouri, Delaware, Nebraska, Kentucky, New Mexico, Maryland, West Virginia, North Dakota.
