Death of a Former Resident.
Mrs. Eunice Jacks, wife of J. W. Jacks, died April sth, at her home in Coats, Pratt county, Kansas. Her maiden name was Williams and she is said to have been born in this, Jasper county, in 1834. She first married Josiah Hammund, who died in 1875. By him she had 6 children, C. F. Hammond, W. S. Hammond, Lizzie Vaughn and Della McCalla, all of near Coats, Jennie Homey, of Greensburg, and Henry M. who died in 1876. She married J. W. Jacks in 1877. He is a brother of H. N. Jacks, of Rensselaer. Mr. and Mrs. Jacks moved to Kansas in 1884, and have lived there ever since except a short time in Oklahoma. She was a member of the M. E. church at the time of her death.
