Dubuque, la., April 28.—H. G. McMillan, chairman of the republican state committee, has issued a call for the state convention to be held in Dubuque, Saturday, September 1. There will be 1,220 delegates. The convention will nominate candidates for secretary of state, treasurer, auditor, judge of the supreme court, reporter of the supreme court, attorney-general and two railroad commissioners, one of the latter to fill vacancy.
