Saw Danger Ahead.

While Hon. J. Frank Ilanly was a member of Congress and while the house was considering the naval appropriation bill, Mr. Ilanly offered an amendment to the bill providing for the constructioh of six, instead of four, first-class battleships. Had congress adopted the amendment and taken Mr.

Hanly’s advice we would be in much better condition to drive the Spanish flotilla back to Spanish ports and free Cuba. We can now see the wisdom of his position. The very things have come to pass that he predicted and the need of those extra battle ships is now keenly felt—Williamsport Review.
