A Lamentable Case.
The Insanity of Harvey Robinson of Gillam Township. J ustices J oel Spriggs, of W alker, and James Lewis, of Barkley, and Drs. EL G. Jones and M. B. Alter held an examination Friday on Wm. H. Robinson, of Gillam, on the question of his sanity, with a view to his incarceration in an insane asylum. He went suddenly deranged last Monday, April 11th, and is now most violently and dangerously insane. He seeks to injure those about him, and has struck a number of them, tries to destroy property, while hisravingsare terrible. It requires the constant exertions of three or four men to restrain him. Up to the time of this examination he had not slept for 50 hours. Mr. Robinson is 34 years old, has been married 12 years and has five young children. He is an industrious and most estimable citizen. As to what caused the diseased condition Of his mind, the physicians are unable He has been worried somewhat by financial matters, but a prolonged religious revival in the neighborhood seemed to have been the more immediate cause of the developement of his insanity just at this time. At the examination it was developed that an aunt, a cousin arfd a great uncle had been insane. He will be got to the asylum as soon as it can possibly be arranged.
