Monticello Worked A Big Bluff In Claiming To Have ItThe Republican has positive official information that'the Michigan. Indiana & St. Louis Railroad Company has not yet located its route through this portion of Indiana, the loud and positive claims of Monticello to the contrary, not withstanding. Dr. A. C. Matchette, treasurer and acting secretary of the company, underdate of April 16, writes to The Republican as follows: “The line has not yet been located, nor will it be on any route until our new executive committee has had an opportunity to fully canvass the surveys and the advantages of the territory through which these surveys have been made and then the right of way must be fully secured on the route, before the location is made, or at least a positive guarantee of all of it made, before any route is made acceptable. Our constructing company have everything in shape to begin actual work of, construction of road within a week from date of locacation of the line, and will push it rapidly to completion.
