The Logansport Presbytery.
The selection of our townsman to represent the Logansport Presbytery, as lay commissioner, at the coming General Assembly of the Presbyterian church, suggests the fact that comparatively few people know what comprises this presbytery. It consists of twelve counties in the northwest corner of Indiana. Namely: Lake, LaPorte, Porter, St. Joseph, Marshall, Fulton, Cass, Starke, Pulaski, White, Newton and Jasper. The Presbytery meets twice a year. Its spring’s meeting has just been held at Goodland. The next fall meeting will be at Union Mills, LaPorte county. It is probable that the next spring meeting will be held at Rensselaer. The spring meetings are much more important than the fall meetings. The General Assembly meets every year, and is the governing body for the entire church organization. This year's Assembly will make the second year it has been held at Winona Park, and a strong effort will be made to keep it there another year, if not permanently.
