Offers the Indiana, Troops.
Gov. Mount has made a formal tender of the services of the Indiana national guard to President
| McKinley. It was announced at military headquarters that the tender was made ten days ago and that the answer from Washington caused the department to hasten to put the state troops on a war footing. The information on which the military department has been acting the last ten days leads it to understand that a call for the national guard of the eastern, southern and central states will be issued immediately upon the declaration of war; that the militia of the several states will be ordered to rendezvous -at the state capitals, where they will be mustered into the regular service. Militiamen who object to being mustered will be affored an opportunity to step out, jt is understood, and their places will be filled with volunteers.
